Well I found we have nearly eight pounds of the BL-C2 powder out in the gun room. I ask Joe about it and he said he tried it in the 30-06 but he didn't chase it far. He loads several powders with all else the same and the best is what he works on. I tried the Varget when I reloaded some for my rifle and got the 5 inch grouping.
I know I am not and old hand at shooting and very new to reloading but I know it can do much better. He told me the IMR 4064 worked in it and that is what he set the loads with. I have about 24 of his loads left and nearly 100 empty cases to reload. All the empties have been fired three times in this gun.
I ran them in the wet polisher today and they were drying when I found the powder and got to thinking maybe if he didn't do much, it will work if I work with it. I found out you cant run 45acp and 30-06 in the polisher at the same time, some of the a5 cases got stuck on the 30-06 cases and I had to rewash them separately. Joe just told me its all a learning process now I know keep calibers separate when cleaning.
My question is has anyone tried the BL-C2 powder and did it work for you? I have 168gr Seirra SPTB bullets I want to use, reason is there is over 3000 of them on the shelf. About 2000 of them are there seconds but Joe said they shoot just a s good as the boxed bullets.
We spent about an hour today putting some of the new bullets he bought in the rim fire plastic cases that people give him. Mostly the ones marked 63gr SMP not sure how many we did but we ended up with 9 full boxes of the bullets in the red Winchester 22lr boxes and there was still some in the bag. The boys put some of the hornet bullets in boxes too, I don't know how many they did they were racing a couple of times, but the little ones did ok keeping up with Ty. All this stuff looks like work until you actually do it and them is more fun than anything else.
Thanks in advance for any information and help you can provide.
