Ok today was a hunting day but I skipped out. Worked yesterday and just didnt feel like I wanted to drag out early today. Anywho I did go out at noon to check on the hunters mainly and see about finding a few persimmon seeds. I am old school there I use them to predict the winters forecast. Laugh if you want bit they are usually really close to what we will get here.
Ok so I got in got the persimmon tore up and the seeds cleaned up some. They are a slimy little thing and you need to hole them to cut them open so get them as clean as possible. Go out my pocket knife - it has a razor type blade on it to split the seeds. There are five seeds in each fruit and I use them all. Its a thing of use the most prevalent to make the prediction. That mean use the most of any style that shows up.
Crud a cant get the phone to focus so I am going to use YouTube for the pictures but the guy in the video is spot on for the most part. Ok ignore all the spiel at the end -- he is a business man and had to get his 2 cents in LOL.
Ok I had 3 spoons and 2 knives - meaning we are going to get snow and ice this winter. Take it for whats its worth but we will prep for those and kiss a nice winter goodbye. Now my fruits/seeds are still greenish and they may change some as they get ripe so I have 5 more fruits in the fridge to wait out. Will give them a few more weeks and cut another apart. I dont see things changing much but who knows - I am doing just what our weather gurus do - guessing at it LOL. I just trust this way more than them anymore, they seem to get more misses than hits. Kind of like yesterday we got showers- ok one guru said there was a chance but he was going with cloudy and if any rain it would be later in the day. Well yesterday we had to race the rain to get the hay up and in the barns to keep it dry - it was all GOOD alfalfa and we didnt want to lose any of it as is all sold. Was a monumental doing but it got done with the help of of farmers around us. One goo thing about good neighbors we all help each other when needed. Shoot even one I dont care for showed up with his trailer to help. So now I need to reconsider his standing in my eyes.
