The Starline brass kinda amazed me at first, for the 6.5 creed. It was all with-in .7 or so and W.C. was better than a lot, when i checked it a few years ago. Primers seated great and did not need to uniform the pockets. Second firing was fine also. I done as normal when prepping case the other day and went to seating primmers. What do we all do? Run finger across case head to double check,,, or at least I do. Crap, primer is setting high and can feel it so let's put it back in the press. Nope, same thing. Put to side and move on. Hummm, same thing for next three. Recheck die setting to make sure de-capping unit isn't bottoming out and pushing on flash hole. ( downward )
Next was to run the brass in the prep center and wow. The brass had flowed back like I never seen before. This was to the point that if you tried to chamber a primed case, headspace would be -001. Joking but you understand what I'm saying. I couldn't believe how much shavings gathered around the pocket cutter. Limits has been pushed hard with many brands of brass, but this is the first for me , that primer depth showed up ,, so fast. Yes, I used the same lot of primers as before. Just saying and was wondering if anyone else seen the brass in semi high pressure, mid range cartridges to do this. I read a few moons ago that the pistol brass was great and for what the creed brass cost, I ordered a bag. This was about two years ago and think 50 pieces was only 24 bucks.
Guess I do have a question on this and that would be,,, What in the heck is going to happen on the next firing and guess I could mic the flash hole area, thickness. For no more than what the brass is,, is it worth my time, to do so?
