Like it says today is the first day of archery season and I had my old decrepit hiney in the stand well before daylight. Saw to nice two bucks but they were and stayed well out of range. Finally a doe walked dang near right up to me and said hey big boy whatcha doing so she is now at the processor. Note to all who hunt you better want to process your own now. Not telling the price but it went up substantially over last year. I barely got her drug up in the truck and decided I just didnt want to mess with her this time. So a quick phone call got me in and now im getting chewed on for taking her out of hands.
I know it didnt happen without pictures but honestly I didnt think about those after the struggle to get her gutted and loaded. I broke my own rule too - always have two people hunting together. Wife has been the most vocal of them here, she knows just how much I can really do and I guess she though I went to far. I can do most honey doos and light work but I am limited too. Recently I welded up a pipe framed gate and even though I did all the heavy stuff with the skip steer I was still hobbled up and cranky for a few days afterward. So now I am already at home with meat available so the bucks will be hunted but at a more leisurely pace.
Its nice to get out early and be home really early for me on any hunting day. I even beat the wifes setting on the coffee pot LOL. meaning I was drinking fresh brewed coffee when she drug herself out of bed. Im sure the bloody clothes next to the washer wont help after when she finds then LOL. She is just so testy about HER appliances lol. Ok off to take a nice warm shower, its kind of cool this morning. It was 54ºF when I climbed into the stand.
