She went to visit her sister in Texas. On the way she got sideswiped by an 18 wheeler. She's OK, but the car had to have all the side panels replaced along with some internal damage. She couldn't come home for weeks.
So I took the opportunity to organize things in the loading room (it was in a frightful state of chaos) and get caught up on reloading some things, and even got in some trigger time at the range.
So I have been cranking out (and shooting):
223
44 Special
45 ACP
45 Colt
6.5x55
Also shot the 380, 30-06, 45-70, and 264 RLB.
And I need to load some more 264 RLB because I realized that what I have on hand is not my most recent load (different primers)
I discovered that my RL-15 which has been gathering dust since the early days of 264 RLB load development is perfect for a slightly reduced load of 223. It's almost all used up now. I had more bullets for the 223 than I thought, which is good because those are getting to be like unicorns, at least the ones I shoot. I got in a Lee Factory Crimp Die so I can crimp the two boxes of Sierra bullets that don't have a cannelure.
I worked up a new plinking load in 45 Colt using 230 gr LRN bullets made for the 45 ACP - they are .453" in diameter and work great in 45 Colt.
And I stocked up on bullets for the 45 ACP JUST IN TIME! And loaded a bunch of them.
I broke my firing pin on the 44 Special but a new one is on its way from Numrich so that should be back in commission soon.
And I went through all the odds and ends boxes and organized all the little tools and also all the brass that for whatever reason hasn't been processed and sorted in the last 40 years, and tumbled and sorted all of it.
I've been busier than a one armed paper hanger, LOL.
