Ok I traded for a WAY old MEC 600JR press and a mess of dies.. The selling point for me was it came with 410 dies, ok they are all there but some are old style and some are the newer style - look to like for the versa mec 700 maybe.. Anywho my internet juju is bad right now - I acquired 5 charging bars with the parts and none are bored for powder bushing and so far I cant find anything on the old bar numbers... Anyone have an ancient list rat holed away? I am sure I have one to go with the old presses we already have but I never added anything to the computer on them... All the bars are of the 302 series but do not have the shot load listed -- the one I have with me shows --- 302 12 GA 0 on one end -- thats it for markings.. A few have been altered to fit whatever load the previous owner was loading.. One has been filed to remove all markings on it and they both holes are drilled and polished to an unkown size... If I have time later I may run out and use the LEE dippers to get the CCs on it and try to cross back that way. If all else fails I will make a reamer and cut the powder bushing holes anew --
I know I should toss these and buy new bars but I am cheap and besides I love to tinker with things -- or as the wife puts I cant leave well enough alone LOL.. But she will buy a dress and rip it to shredds then rework it.. go figure. There is two bars that I am assuming are for the 410 -- 302 12 and 302 1116 and both are the newer powder bushing type..
All this so I could see if reloading the plastic hulls is worth it -- been doing the 444 marlin brass so long a few are actually starting to split at the ends.. Yes the boys go thru them almost as fast and they can 223 in the ARs.. We just lose a few at times too.. especially when we are dove hunting next to the ponds.. I have let them get wet diving for brass but still lose a few anyway.
