We made it to the closest indoor range - not the best but it isnt far behind now. Took the new DIL and the boys and we had a ball. I thought the girl was going to be a problem but she takes instruction well and it soaks in not bounces thru her ears. Any who we shot the snot of of the little taurus's and a few large framed semi's. The got a few looks when we went in and I told the lady there they were probably better mannered than most men she deals with. She kept an eye on us when the boys walked up to the line and after they run 18 or 20 rounds thru the little bearcats she walked away smiling. The DIL laid claim to my SA 1911 EMP in 9mm... I got it for the wife but she doesnt like it, not enough plastic I guess. The girl is deadly with it too - at 15yds anyway... her groups got a little wild at 25yds but she could still hurt you if you pushed her. I know she ran 50 thru it pretty quick then put it down to cool.
The boys got the lady running the place to rent them (me) a 10-22 so they could eat up $20 worth of ammo LOL... I was surprised she didnt try to stick us on the price of the ammo but it was the same as we pay at the little gunshop near us, more the wally world but still cheaper than arse pro. After we all got tired we did lunch and the girl can eat the heat.. she suggested a Thai food place she knows.. We will be going back there again - I will go alone if need be it was that good. I think the people there were surprised with the boys shoving everything they sat down away like it was nothing. I didnt even know the girl did hot stuff, I know she uses my hot BBQ sauce when they come out but never kept up with much else. When we got back to her house the grand daughter told us to be quiet Alli was sleeping. I almost laughed but knew better, she has her moms temper at times, cant figure out where they get the attitude from... The boys made sure the puppy there got plenty of loving before we came home. I did leave her the EMP for now, I am not sure if it is hers now or she will get to wait like everyone else. Guess the son and I will hash that out Thursday, we sat down at her table and I talked her thru the cleaning of it... I dont think my son is as thorough as I am... I know she has watched the son clean his and her face said well this is a new thing a few times. I did tell her not to carry it only for home defense until she gets her carry permit - she said she can wait a few months then the unlicensed carry takes effect - I was polite and told her no permit no carry in this family. On the way home I called the SIL (LEO) and ask when the next CC class was starting and we have a few weeks.. I will have her out to work and she can earn the money for the class.
So now we have I am guessing close to 300 rounds to reload and the boys even policed up the 22 hulls (which really floored the lady) because left it cleaner than when we found it. I think we will be using it more this summer it was nice to AC blowing all the smoke down range LOL. We did haul out the 44 for a couple shots each and at the first shot the lady was staring thru the window LOL.. No I did not take any loaded down rounds with it, all full power loads and the boys only wanted one.. she did go for two before handing it back. Its a bit nose heavy for the boys but they did manage to hit the bottom of the target LOL. the lady ask to look it over when we were cashing out and I think she kind of likes its feel - Like doc said in another posting - it has a big plow handgrip but still feels right at home in a womans hand too. It is a big SS thing that I got to try the handgun silhouette but there wasnt enough people back the to make it happen so now its a hunting toy.
