I got permission today to shoot clays at the Homestead resort for 38 bucks and bring my own shot shells. The girl at work, hooked me up good and never even seen the clay range in my life. Ive worked on HVAC at this place and its high dollar nothing in my mind, but people from all over the US or world goes there. Not for clays but for the place its self. Greenbrier is about the same and has PGA golf there. The Homestead is SAM Snead's place or was.
Brian B from this site has been there and played golf and he knows what I'm talking about. People like us cant afford 175 bucks to play and IIRC,, he was on a biss trip and got to play for free. Speaking of him,,, where in the heck has he been?
Anyway, I got my foot in the door and will go to the clay range, every chance I get. I thanked Kinsey about 100 times today and will take care of her in anyway that I can,, for helping me out. She has power in Bath county that I would never have dreamed of. Her gate don't swing as most but one helluva woman. She is outstanding in work and better than a few on our team. I'm not just saying this because she got me in a click, and no one stays on our team,, unless they are top notch at what they do.
Guess my butt be firing up the Mec or buy 50 cases of shot shells and I'm taking full advantage of this. I know a good thing when it is laid in my hands. It will take time and offer free help for cleanup or what ever it takes to keep me in the good. Takes 1 hour to drive there and who cares, because I sure don't. It cost 35 bucks at the place Blue-Dot took me and he provided my shells, for me. He must have 150 free passes for the 35 buck part and maintains, the pond for the owner. I'm thankful for him letting me blow 80 bucks of his money in the air and wasn't some crappy shot shells. Wasn't that much but still.
I have another three cases of AA #9's but will save them until I get better at doing this. Might buy a few cases of the cheapest #8 or 9's in Kent or whatever is on sale to start out with. Think I have plenty of cheap Win and Fed #8's under the bed to last a few times anyway. Bought them at wally world a few years back for 14 bucks a 100,,, on sale or they couldn't move them. Good enough for me and don't need the best or hand loads, until I get better at this sport. Yea, sport and like I was told,,, football, baseball and such is a GAME and not a sport. If so, they would call it sporting football or sporting baseball and such. Sporting Clays. I love the way a man put that to me and use it every time co-workers start talking football trash. I don't watch or get into it at all. I just say,, its not a sport and would rather jump off a mountain, than watch that stuff and will spend my money on doing a real sport. It tares them up bad and believe me, they rip me wide open too,, on my so called games or sports.
