Anyone have any experience with this one? I was offered 2 still new in the box, they are old stock and from what I can find searching on here it is a great deal. Story behind this question. The boy and I went to a local farm store this morning and on the way back he spotted an estate sale sign so.... The kids are getting mom to sell what she doesn't need and move closer to town so they aren't so worried about her health. We stopped to basically get the particulars on the sale and the lady recognized me from the VFW. He husband was a member but had died a few years back but she still comes to some of the functions for members and family. Anyway she had already sold or the kids got away with most of his firearms and sporting goods. The auctioneers people hadn't started inventorying anything so she ask if I would be interested in some of his old hunting stuff just to make sure it didn't go to a junk shop somewhere. I think we may have made a few of the inventory people hot because the boy just kept hauling stuff to the car. Basically I got blessed beyond measure just for stopping, I know I bought 8 to 10 more casting molds and all the stuff that goes with them - about a 5 gallon tote full of stuff, it was just about all the boy could do to get it to the car. A 5 gallon bucket of assorted boxed bullets, mostly old Seirra stuff in the old cardboard boxes. Another medium box of assorted reloading stuff, it was already in there and I didn't look hard. A large box of God only knows of gun parts and pcs she had just dumped in sometime last year when she was cleaning up his bench. 6 old military rifle stocks of various makers - took them for the wood, we can use that for something. Then she got into a closet and out came the scopes and other stuff, I told her I didn't know a thing about the Ziess things but the other stuff looked ok and then ask if she had a price in mind for everything. She quoted me the price and I had to tell her I wanted it all but I didn't have that much money on me and I would leave some things until I got back from the bank...
Nothing doing take it all just bring the money by later, so I am headed back as soon as I drop the boy off for class. She told me she may find other things I might like and would set it back so the workers didn't label it until I decided if I wanted it. There was a boat load of household things so I am taking Joyce with me, we don't need anything but who knows where this is going. But Joyce can sniff out canning supplies in the pitch black... It may take a few days but I will get the stuff dug out and probably have questions on a few things like the Ziess things, I have heard of them but never had anything made by them. The other stuff is what I was raised with, Weaver, Redfield and even a few Tasco brand goodies... A bunch of leather slings and other stuff all shoved in a box, and other boxes I only peeked in had handed to the boy. I am sure I have more than a few pcs of scrap but I am sure there is enough good to out weigh any bad I find. I have an extra pocket full of money on the just in case plan. The finance minister is going to kill me but, Hey you only live once and who knows Joyce may save my hide there too...
