Just throwing this out there. We have a pound or so of it and today us kids took the Hornets out for their annual range time. We stayed here but we stayed at the range for over 3 hrs. Everyone including Aunt got more than a few shots a piece LOL. She was shooting my first hornet (after we took the extensions off) and I thought I may have to pry it away from her when we finished. MY fuss is we only had about 150 carts between 5 rifles which included the kids personal toys. So being the thoughtful old coot I am we took the little lee clamp on press and dies for each rifle. That was just my first mistake, next up was the only powder we grabbed was the LilGun.... the air is super saturated here right now, we got rain moving in and the humidity is God awful. We did grab a large cup of powder coated bullets for the hornets and off we went, sandwiches and drinks in hand... Anyway to get to my gripe... the LilGun was pitiful in its performance. we didn't take the chrony but groups went from around an inch to we couldn't hit an orange at 100yds... Then after we get back I notice my scale pan has some blackish funk inside, so I rub it, bad move there. It was a slimy gunk that just smeared, I have it soaking in denatured alcohol now. I had loads written down for the LiGun so I know it has worked in the past. Does anyone know if it is moisture attractive? The cap seemed tight but one of the kids may have opened it to look down in it so I cant be sure, I haven't got the flashlight and rubber hose out yet LOL. This just has me bumfuzzled, never had this problem before.
We just finished cleaning the rifles and got them put away here and got the boys rifles setting by the door for transport home later. The middle boy doesn't actually own one yet but he has the bug now for sure. Mom was looking for a second hand 222 that we could clean up and fit to him, he will take a 222 but he wants a hornet now so mom may as well get ready to crack open her secret stash LOL... He is 7 and at least he hasn't started asking for his own little handgun. But then the other little one doesn't own one so we have some time. They get to shoot the little Berretta and the little 38s for now and they are happy.
