Ok, After picking Sam's brain for help I relined a Marlin Model 94 in 25-30. Did nothing but the liner, left it butt ugly. And by that i mean it was never truly taken care of and looks like a hunk of scrap metal from the side of the road. It's an inherited piece so I'm not planning on sprucing her up I just wanted to shoot her and looking down the barrel before the liner it should have been a shotgun.... there was no rifling left in her. Sam told me the easy way and it was relatively cheap too. Got everything from Brownells in one package and with about an hours work of drilling and gluing the liner in then waiting a week for everything to set up. The hard part for me was to clean up the ends but not get in the original finish. Inside wasn't such a worry it will be hidden but the muzzle was show. Then using muriatic acid I rusted the liner to match the barrel and unless you stare down the barrel muzzle end you cant tell anything was done. As far as cleaning went I scrubbed the insides really good but only used a burlap cloth and Ed's Red on the outside.
So it looks like an oiled hunk of rust, even the wood sucked in a fair amount of Old English oil. Yeah I know should have done it right but maybe in the future right now she is a shooting conversation piece for the most part. Had to form my own ammo out of 32-30 brass, didn't get any of the ammo for it, long story but that's part of the relining too..... She is going to strut her stuff tomorrow at the range at a family shooting spree.
Will be taking the ones they are used to playing with then wait to bring her out to meet them.
