Ok, this may come as a bad tasting info post. If you own a Horton crossbow made before spring of 2013 you may have a dinosaur. The new owners do not have parts or do warrantee work on the old stuff. Son has one of their Bone Collector series and somehow he managed to break the Bolt Retention Spring. After wasting time looking for a replacement on line I gave up and went to the local archery shop and found out the aforementioned info. But he did have a few in stock as well as a few other parts that he had somehow stocked up on when they were still up and running. There are few on ebay but they are misrepresented, they do not fit the older models. All is well now got the part installed and it works fine. I did find a “decocker” arrow than is used to unload the bow. It’s a solid arrow with a large blunt head, not sure if it is one of his ideas or a commercial thing but it works a lot better than shooting an arrow to unload it. And one for the fun side of things, he sold me a stock for an older model Horton for use on a Steampunk rifle I am thinking of doing. He had the guts to an old tube type radio setting on his bench when we went back to look for the part and I ask if he worked on them. No, he just wanted the body to put to use on a stereo center he was building. So I ask about the tubes, got the whole thing for free and a promise to bring back anything I use the parts on so he can see what my vision is. So I stocked up on my old style components box. Will post the non-sporting, non-working thing when I finish it.
