Ok, went to leaser to hunt this morning and it was super muddy. Most of the guys just got to the woods (maybe 100yds) a few went to the back. Me I stayed at the campsite drinking coffee LOL. They were all gone before 6 and around 7 I heard noises about 75yds away. Not loud but like something hanging up in the brush near the campsite, just brush rattling no grunts or other telltale signs. It was just getting daylight when I saw the first one. Had several nice eating pigs rooting in the thicket. Put the rifle I had out for deer away and got out the 264RLB. Was not taking the 264 out in the slime and muck, I have developed a serious like for it. Set up on the hood of the truck and waited on a victim to come over the rise. Took about 10 minutes before I could pick and choose. Several were larger but the one who offered the side shot stayed. One of the bigger hogs ran to where some of the guys were set up. Not sure who or how many times but it bled out real nice LOL. So now I have bloodied mine. I did mess up slightly. I have it set for 250yds and scope is 1 1/2 above the bore. Was aiming behind eye and below ear. I got blessed hit it low but, it only ran about 40 yds and parallel to me not away from me. All I am sure of now is I have a permanent mental note the damned thing shoots 1 1/2in low at 75 yds. But I had him loaded and ready for home before the others got there to get a couple of 4 wheelers to go fetch theirs. Me being the good guy I am, not sure how they made out, I did lock the gate back as I was driving away So now he is home and hanging to bleed a little more. Ok, actually so I can warm up and gather all the butchering tools. It's actually cool enough I may wait to see if the girls do any good first. Besides nothing like watching the grandkids poking it with a stick then laughing like wild heathen.
