Like it said we had a ball... took some guests to the clubs range so we had more than just 100yds to shoot thinking everyone will stay at the 100 or less but let me get a few shots in with the 264RLB to check some new bullets. I should have known it was going to be fun when they brought their own rifles to shoot LOL. The female paired up pretty quick with J while the oldest got her new rifle out and set up. The boys ran targets out and stapled them up and even ran a couple out to the 250yd board for the me and the daughter.
Well my assumption got shot down pretty quick when the female guess drug out a Wby MK V in 257Wby.. She didnt say what she brought only they brought a few to practice on because they dont have a place to go to often. I guess the closest place is 50 miles west of the city, nearly all of the long range place closer you must join the range and she said they dont shoot enough to warrant that. I got the skinny on the rifle and it belonged to her dad who has quit hunting and she ask for it to hunt with. I got to admit she can shoot it too.... She shot 5 times and impressed the oldest girl enough she ask if she wanted to shoot hers a few times. He hubby fell in love the with the suppressed 300aac and the 264RLB..
He brought an AR and did ok with it, even held his own with Joey with his. They are both a tad cocky and it was fun to watch -- at least until my mind got to figuring out how much reloading I would be doing to catch back up.... The boys got their crickets out but stayed back and let mom and dad handle the girls. They did ok I mean at 25ys they managed to kill one blue dye ball each - their mom wanted the pieces and thankfully the boys stopped her before she go to the blue LOL.. I had planed for that - I brought bread bags to wear as shoe covers LOL.. so they got their pieces to take home. I made the boys shoot at the dye balls at 50yds and it took all of 2 or 3 shots each to kill one.. We had enough fun I told them they needed to come out more often, I got free help and they got to shoot.
Got home and the boys impressed them buy cleaning their own weapons and even ask if they could help them. I lost a can of Elks Oil but it was a good thing.. the man had his what they recommended oil with him and I told him just try and see... Not going to say what his oil was but it is a big name brand and he said what I knew--- this stuff is so much better. Then he got to show me he CAN cook on the grill too.. And while he was cooking I got to walk with the kids back to the barn to check on the new baby. It took about 5 minutes and the girls were in the pen with mom, baby and the boys, I think that is the only thing they will really remember if they are ask. Their mom got all kinds of pictures of them petting and hugging the calf.. even got one of the mom giving the big one a cow kiss on the arm LOL.. she didnt freak out but she wasnt expecting it. The boys had a blast even showed them where the milk comes from, at first I was going to stop them but I just let things go.
Got back to the house and a quick dip in the pool and the kids were semi clean again LOL.. Best darn $300 the wife ever spent at Walmart LOL..
Had a great meal and we sat around talking while the kids played in the pool. I think she and my girls are all planning next weekend already LOL.. Not sure about the hubby - he is not a real outdoorsy type but he will fit in I guess.. LOL
