I just have to share this.I ran into another reloader at the mill today and talked for a while.Some how we got on the overbore subject and I just walked away thinking about what a JA this dude is.He said that the way you could tell if a rifle was overbore,,,take the bullet dia and x it by the same and x again by 1000.If the number was higher than the max powder charge,then its overbore.
.224x.224x1000=50.176
Well I guess a 222 or 223 is overbore and how in the hell you get 50 grains in a 222 or 223,i don't know.
Ok,lets do a 30-06. .308x.308x1000 is 94.864 Wups,that's way overbore.I think he is overbore and full of spit.He really pissed me off before this when telling him about my Weatherby mags,7RUM and 7mag.He said the weaths and .284's was never famous for accuracy and that got my breaker pushing major amps and was ready to blow.Funny damn thing I tested my 257 at all most 600 yards a few days ago and it put three shots in about a 3" group that far and the three factory rounds was about 4 inches.That wasn't even my best hand loads because the brass is starting to split necks after 39 times.I shot the 7RUM at the same yardage yesterday and it blowed a 2 gal pretzel jug of water to heck the first time so I didn't even check for a group and put it up.
Lets try this crock of bull again. .284x.284x1000 is 80.656 Wow,i burn 94 grains in the 7RUM so I guess its NOT OVERBORE
80 grains in my Rum wouldn't even get the darn bullet out the pipe (it would but im just saying)and the 7RUM is about overbore as you can get unless you have one of them 115 grain powder burning suckers that BLUE-DOT owns.
What a crock of bull spit and just remember,trade your weath mags and .284's for a 270 because they are the best shooting rifle ever made from his eyes.I cant run my mouth in the mill because it can be termination but I CANT WAIT TO SEE THAT JA OUTSIDE THE MILL.I might be nice and get him to bring his 270 up and shoot for $50 bills at 400 plus.Bet his A$$ will go home broke and rethink his knowledge or whatever is in his noggin.
