Part one was all factory ammo in a BLR in the year 2000. Factory ammo shot great and at the time I had only ever loaded for 30-06, (I had three 30-06s previously and had sold all of them) and all my loading equipment was in a box in storage.
I killed two deer with it, decided to get another 30-06, joined the RLB, started loading 30-06 again, sold the BLR and thought 7mm-08 was history.
Well, except for the A-Bolt that I got for my son. I used factory Winchester Ballistic Silvertips. The gun has a BOSS so I can tune the gun to the load. So when I first started loading for 7mm-08 I just duplicated the factory load since that is what the BOSS was setup for. That was part 2. Sorta kinda reloading but just duplicating factory loads.
The A-Bolt was a micro hunter because I got it before my son hit his growth spurt. He hit his growth spurt, shot up to 6'3", and the gun no longer fit him.
The gun has been a safe queen for years and years. I take it out occasionally, and tried subsituting Accubonds for the Ballistic Silvertips, years ago. For some strange reason I seemed to remember it not shooting very well with the Accubonds and just left it in the safe.
I finally got around to thinking about using it again, and was going to take it to the range and try to tune the BOSS to the Accubonds. I could not find the Accubond loads. I could have sworn I had some somewhere.
So I get out my loading log, and I only loaded 5 Accubonds and the notes say "V Accurate" WHAAAA??? How did I misremember that???
OK part three starts today. I'll first load that same load that had a notation of "V Accurate" and see what happens at the range.
