Not sure why or how them marks got around ejector and looks more like scratching around with a tool. It may be the end of a brush if he cleaned the bolt face any, also. That damn rifle hasn't been fired much at all and has never seen a hot round. I can tell that by no shinny ring around firing pin hole and wear on bottom side of bolt lug / track grove in lug. Bet the back side of bolt lugs is still mostly matte black also. Was you able to drive the pins like I told you, so lever and spring stayed in place? Guessing not since it wouldn't move enough to drive front left to right. Don't know why he would have even touched Loctite for anything to do with trigger. The spring should have kept the release locking lever from rattling around but then again, who knows. Id tell your cousin that the rifle is ruined and a man from VA will give him 700 bucks,, as it sets LOL.
Please tell me that there is no pits in the pipe after you knocked most of fouling out. I don't care what anyone says and if a barrel sets dirty and correct humidity, they will pit. I never leave any of mine over 6 months setting idle,,, without cleaning and running a few oil patches thru the pipe. Learned that one the hard way and glad my 7mm mag is a shooter from hell, because I left it setting for three years and didn't know better at the time. It has minor pitting but refuses to show it in groups. Its just one of those that was born to burn a hole until the pipe falls completely off of it.
That rifle is going to print some ridiculous groups after you get it put together correct. I have yet to see one of those barrel designs not to. When you see that crown on their heavy barrels made 94 to not 100% sure ( maybe 2000 ) , they plain out freaking very accurate. That's why I sent you a pic of one of mine to confirm it wasn't the recessed target crown they put on after the rolled over style. They and other makers are crazy and hard to beat a 11 degree crown like that. The one I showed you was a 1995 VLS heavy 222. That is the rifle that your bench rest friend said the 10 shot group was kind of impressing. That was a good one and IIRC, 10 shots at 220 yards was .5 or under, with most in a tiny ragged hole. That rifle wont shoot good as my 40X, but its a damn close race. Had one in the 204 and eggs at 400 yards was nothing on a very calm day. Still have a few others with that barrel and all will send most high dollar builds home with tail tucked and not talking trash. Ask Joe if he has any of them and bet he does. They might not come out of the safe but he knows the ones that shot like hell also.
