I killed my Alpha Master awhile back. I like simple and don't need Bluetooth crap or printer. The Magneto speed was calling my name, along with the Lab. I just didn't see putting that much in them. We got 270 bucks in scrap money at work,, so why not spend it on something that I rely on and free. Looked at many reviews and came up with this simple chronograph. It is the ProChrono by Competition Electronics. 115 bucks and user friendly from what I seen. I just figured all of this fancy stuff would be a waste of money and something else to go wrong,, plus I don't need it. All I need is simple FPS, ES, SD and average.
The company also claims that it will be replaced at half price,, no matter what happens. If I killed one, I can surely do it again but doubt it. I wouldn't have killed the first one if not playing with a 19 pound rifle, with a scope 3 inches above the bore. My fault and learned. I liked that Alpha to and was a breeze to use. This one should be also and if I don't like it,, send it back to Midway. They had another one on sale for 112 but pretty sure it was all that Bluetooth crap and free app stuff. Not me at all and I'm a simple SOB.
I will design a schedule 20 stainless box for it, with slanted ramp in front,, just incase. I have some ideas of how to do so,, for ease of reading the display and resetting,, without taking the unit out. Might use something lighter than SS also because im getting a damn good tripod to mount it to,, this time. My junk pod is going in the trash and wouldn't hold a june bug still. Got another 50 pieces of PRC brass coming with the order. That makes 150 pieces and should last me forever.
We shall see if this thing is worth a hoot and 295 people gave it nice reviews. 4.6 stars and way better than some that I looked at.
