Mark, as both of us know,, the 28 Nosler brass isn't cheap at all. My rifle hates the Nosler brand in 28. The necks are to thick for my tight spec chamber / throat. Sure, the necks can be turned down and to be honest,, they should because that just makes a more accurate case. I bought 26 Nosler brass in Nosler brand and just necked up. That took my high pressure away. What I mean is. New 28 Nosler brass was fine for the first or second firing but after that,, pressure went sky high and it took time to figure this problem out. Yea,, who would have thunk that was the cause. Between Blue-Dot, Doc and myself,, we figured it out together. The rifle is a Long range Mesa and you know what im talking about.
Ok, here is my question to you. I was looking on Midway and seen that they have 26 Nosler brass in the Hornady brand. 46.99 for 20 pieces. Have you are your friends out there in magnumville, tried any of it yet? We both know the primer pocket will open up before the brass ever gets a cracked neck or gets close to separation. Just like the RUM's do and we know them well. Im pinching a penny as always and need to get another 20 pieces for 1000 yard shooting. I have 25 of the Nosler brass in 26 but they are loaded with a 168 Berger. I want 20 more for the 175 SMK so I can have a long range target load. Blue and I has the data down from last year on the 175 SMK and 86 grains of R33. We will get the data down for the 168 VLD / 80.5 grains of R26. I threw this in,,, incase you ever want to try the powders and know you said R26 was heck to find out there.
Talk to me pal. Thanks. Anyone can comment and I know Mark is a extreme power nut,, as I.
