Like it said we had a hog problem, it was a short lived one but still. A neighbor called a couple weeks back and told me his big boar got out and if I seen him drop him and enjoy what I could from him. Well we have had him on camera a few times and got his pattern down -- he was coming about 7 every night - just dark enough a regular scope wouldn't work LOL.. well he screwed up and started going to eat at the feeder with the IR lighting.. So I skipped church last night to fix the problem and just like clock work we came in from his normal direction --- and up wind to, everything was saying it was his last meal. So the 264RLB now has 3 hogs to its name, it was not much fun really. And my sense of fair play went out the window the day he "reworked" my turkey pen.... So 1 just below the right eye from the side and he took a long nap. I had him skinned and hung in the cooler just before the others got home and the boys got a little peeves but they will work that off in about an hr.. I am saving the hams and the loins, the rest will hit the grinder. I am thinking close to 140lb of meat when we are finished. the owner will get half too, wasn't really his fault he couldn't keep that thing up - once they get out they will find ways to get out again. I guess this one had managed to be free a couple times before they just got him put back up. He has more fat than a wild hog so he may make some good sausage instead of just ground pork. Joyce has been sharping knives all morning, even some small ones so the kids all know they are not exempt LOL.
I will edit this with a final tally on the weights but with the daughters laws about putting pictures of the kids on the interweb may not be many of those.
Thought I would show him before his demise LOL
Edited to add: OK we ended up with 52lb of ground meat and an 18lb ham after trimming it. I went ahead and gave the buy both loins, a ham and his half of the ground meat. He even took some of the bones to smoke for his dogs.
