I was shooting my 9mm some and heard the dog bark. A long time friend showed up out of nowhere and thought he might be in need for help because he always gives me heads up. He just bought a new bow and set it up last week. Not a crossbow and we are stuck on compound. He said it should be 330 FPS IBO and wanted to use my chrony. Hell yea and lets see what it does.
Five shots was 324.2 to 324.9 FPS and think the chrony said .91 for ES and a SD of 00.00
I was amazed that a bow was so consistent and never done this before. Ok pal,, lets see how it groups at 20 yards and it was crazy good with both of us behind it. We only shot one at a time and he said,, these arrows are 98 bucks a dozen and not busting them. Yea, it would shoot that good and he printed a 5/8 group on the sticker dot. I haven't shot much at all lately and done 1.25 inch. Very fun evening and shot his bow about 35 times each and had to stop after 6 dollars went somewhere and couldn't find it. We push each other hard and 90 yards was a tad to much for me. 70 was a walk in the park for us but I just had to do 90 and he took it away. I gave him 10 bucks for a new arrow but that doesn't replace it. All was a match set and came in at 356 grains or within one grain . Damn that bow is sweet and I can feel the sore setting in and haven't pulled 70 pounds for a long time. I knew this was coming and he told me 6 weeks ago that I needed to get back into bow hunting and fuck a rifle. Guess so and ive been out the game that I love for to long. I don't have the funds right now to drop on a 1200 set up but I'm sure that me and my first Mathews that they came out with,, can get the job done. Always has and might not be up to date, ive killed piles of deer with it over the years.
I better get it out and do some inspecting on limbs and put a new sting on it. I will call Mathews in a day or so and might just get lucky, for a trade in or new model. I don't want anything for free but its the first Solo Cam that they made and had it since I was 19 or so years old. I'm sure they have many of the first but a call is worth the time and has a lifetime warranty. Nothing wrong with it but a free up grade or a hundred out the pocket is worth asking over. Never know until you try.
