Just learned something.I didn't know R22 was bad about temp changes.Thats my favorite powder for the 240 and sticking with it until I see differ.
RR,i got my first jug of 7828 last year or when ever I bought the 257 mag.It done great with the lighter bullets and put the FPS way up there where 4 other powders that I tested would not.Its pretty good stuff but haven't tried it in anything other than the 257.Im not sure why but R22 and R25 did me best in the 240 and 257 mags with heavy BERGER VLD's.I tried many differ powders such as 4350,4831,7828,Retumbo,H1000,N165 and US896 but the R powders gave me wicked accuracy.Im talking 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups at 387 yards on my good days.
Doc,i don't trust NOSLERS data for nothing.Just like their 6.5 rem mag bullspit.I was dumb enough to just try their accurate load and had to beat the freaking bolt open with a 2x4.It might be fine in their fancy Liga or Wiseman TEST barrels but not my factory stuff. My 6.5 mag is another that cant be pushed hard and that's why I send a 85grn Sierra HP flat base at about 3300 FPS done the pipe because it will never see a 100 grain pill at 3500 as NOSLER claims. The only Nosler data that done me right was for the 7RUM with their 160 accubond.I worked it up slowly(remembering what the 6.5 did) and 94grns of Retumbo made that bitch come alive. Its been to long but I think,I was getting more FPS than they said and the 160 accubond was moving way over 3300.F that kicking bastard and it don't get shot much at all.
