I will not fill in many details will let the owner do that. I will say she was a seriously happy camper and we only used 4 loads with 4 different bullets. Its been a while since we messed with it and this was first real testing. She whined and the other stuff while she was lapping the barrel... I made her do it after I showed her how, only a couple of pullouts and one push thru... after the second pull out I had the kids go check on the animals... she got past mad. Cooled off and she started again. It all paid off today, I know what mine likes so I whipped up a couple of just under my loading and we test fired it and it cut a bug hole at 25yds. That was all the room I had out the back door of the shop. Today we took it to the little range down back and I let her do it all. At 100yds the first loads (5) were in the 1 1/2in range. Next step up and things got much tighter. Third step and she was down to .45in group. We let the barrel cool while she shot her Eddystone a few times.. The whining really kicked in -- it kicks a bit more than a heavy barreled 223 LOL. She did ok but she still hasn't got the peep sight down. I got to play with it for a few rounds and dang I love that weapon... I told her I may want to use it this year to hunt with. She shot her last group and she can fill that in. All I will say is she has never done it before. I think the rifle has a permanent home. This may be the best Christmas gift I ever gave her. All I know is she was walking on the clouds and there were no drugs involved. It is fit to her so when I shot it I needed a sand bag for extra pull... The kids were only there a little while - they were saying goodbye to some of the goats. But she made sure they knew what she had done. I made some serious Brownie points today... Who ever says a cheap Savage won't shot needs to go buy one, clean it up real well and find a load it loves. I cant remember who it was here that posted about the Cabela's sale but Thanks You!
