Me and the boy reloaded some ammo for his 22 K-Hornet and my 17 Hornet today. It was his idea and I ended up being about as proud as a man can be... He reloaded his by himself, all I did was check his settings on the powder measure and just sat there wanting to get in his way. We had been quiet long enough the old woman came to check on us with coffee and iced tea. She ended up pulling up a chair and watching the little pro at work too. He does things a bit different from me but I did teach him to do it one thing at a time and he has that down. Only drawback I saw but kept to myself was he takes each case out of one tray charges it then places it in another -- to many moves for me but at least he knows if they are in the second tray they have been charged. He did about 125 before he declared it was my turn so then he and the woman got to watch and laugh at me. Ok, first mistake was to decide not to set up a Vickerman die for the 17... I wasn't doing that many... second mistake was I didn't dump the bullets in my shallow pan like always --- so I got the play 100 bullet pickup after hanging a pinky on the box and dumping it over. And I may as well fess up -- one or two of my fingers got in the way of the ram due to the not using the Vickerman die.... but I got my 150 loaded and in boxes and on the shelf. The aunt left after the second sarsaparilla that came out of my mouth, nicest cuss word I could think of with the boy being my conscience. Only once did I leave a mark on the finger...
But here is the fruits of our labors His uses the Dogtown bullets from Midway -- has never passed through a coyote yet... The little 17 needs a bit more precision when going after a yote but it will kill them just as dead.
Edited: if its warm tomorrow we will be testing them LOL.. he filled some water bottles and stuck them in the freezer as hard targets LOL..
