My best friend of over 34 years called last night and said, lets go fish and after nothing but huge fish. Hell yeah and I know a honey hole bud and haven't been there for over 10 years.
We hit the river at 7:30am this morning and two others put in at the same time. Within 20 minutes we heard someone scream,,, ITS ON BABY. Looked up and the man had a 48" musky jumping out the water like a tarpon. We put the anchors out and fished my honey hole for carp. 10 minutes and Robin's line took off. We knew it was better than big and took 15 minutes to see it. It came to the surface and both of us was like,,,, WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT. We got it in the boat and it was a 32.8 MIRROR CARP. We have been fishing this river together for 31 damn years and never seen anything like this before.
We didn't even know what kind of carp it was,,, until I sent Blue-Dot a picture.
20 minutes later , his line took off again and he caught something else that we have never caught before,, but seen them. He got a 22 pound BLUE CAT.
I was next and hooked a 25 pound carp like we have always caught and took me 28 minutes to get it in on 6lb line and a ultra light pole. I had my doubts about landing it and my line was torn up bad from the rock and sticks that it went in and out of.
We hooked many and a few got off and broke lines. We caught 11 fish and nothing was under 22 pounds. This is a day that we will never forget and had a blast. To top it off, another boat came by and damned if they didn't hook another musky, about 3 foot long , on a tiny white grub. It cut the line but they did touch it,,, so I call that a catch. Great day and not many times a person can catch monster fish and that many in 7 hours. We was worn out and could have done better.
