Thank you so much for the prayer and the blessings. Especially love the all eight fruit of the spirit as listed. Maybe time for some confession on my part. For the most part I do not act much like a Christian, but as studying the word, that gets done here like it or not. Without looking up the exact places the scripture you quotes is in Acts twice.
When dad first got back in church there was no question of do you want to go. You got up and went and acted like you liked it. Now especially in the last 9 months its not something we see as a "we got to go" thing on Sunday. My kids are up and if we sleep late they are on us to get a move on. Tom has a better background in church than I do. When I was not in dad's house I didn't go period. Now dad doesn't ask and he doesn't say anything if I (we) don't go but it feels wrong not to. Aunt Joyce is like dad in the aspect of going to church. They are ready early for every service, if not they are feeling bad.
She is one you don't mess with at lunch, ask the kids. Dad used to tell us his mom would pray through for lunch if you irked her, well Aunt Joyce is the same way. If you irk her you best like cold food because the woman knows how to tarry with the Lord for all the things needed not just blessing the food.
Now for the part about forgiveness, Dad has already set up down with a few simple rules to follow. These are not off the top of his head either he and mom practice the same rules. Number 1 is never go to bed mad. He will kiss her and tell her he loves her every night before going to bed. If he crashes in his chair she wakes him and tells him to "go get in the bed old man" and he kisses her on the way out doesn't matter if they had a spat or not. His other main rule is one his pawpaw taught him. What is good for the gander is also good for the goose. Or in simple terms do nothing that you don't want the other to do. That means anything you want but it has a solid principle behind it. He did warn us about not letting it become a ritual, if you are still mad work it out before you just go through the motions and end up in trouble. I sometimes wonder if Tom can put up with my attitude and still love me. All he says is shut and come here I need a hug. In that sense he is like dad, a hug can fix most anything.
Funny thing is, it usually does.
