Suck it up big boy!!
Go get an old sofa cushion. Take the fabric off of it. Sit on the foam and it won't slide. Get 'er done fast, they are calling for 45+ mph winds here from 2-8 pm tomorrow.......
I helped a guy put tile roofs on in Ca. His advice? Go buy a brand new pair of tennis shoes. They can be sorta cheap. Once you start to slip when walking on the roof, throw them out and buy another pair. He used to be a jockey, one roof we were on he could carry 6 tiles, I could only carry 3. If I carried one more, the tiles would break when I stepped on them. AND I knew how to walk on them.
We had a job on a new 2-story house. The front was at the edge of a hill. We got the paper down, and marked off the paper for the guys delivering the tiles to load the roof. It started to drizzle, they were running late and we left. The next morning when we got there, and went up on the roof, the roof was loaded like it was supposed to, but there were 2 parallel streaks that started about half way up the roof and went all the way to the edge. When I looked over the edge, it was on the side where the hill dropped away, and it was JUST to the side of the framers scrap wood pile.
We called the supplier and asked them what happened. He said one guy had old shoes, and they were loading the roof in the drizzle. He slid, and stayed on his feet the whole way off the roof and landed on his feet like a cat and rolled down the hill. He's one lucky SOB, not even a sprained ankle. 3' further over and he would have landed on the pile of lumber scraps.
