I haven't played with my 240 for awhile and my brother wants to try his 204 and 22-250 out this weekend on some crows. He marked the yardage from 200 out to 700 in the field last week. We are good on the yardage and he used the little survey flags/taped to 3/8 rebar about 4 feet off the ground. He has never done much bench shooting and is a great hand loader, but just loads to kill at 200 yards or less. Don't get me wrong because his stuff burns holes just like mine at close distance and he can shoot like hell. He has a few walls of 150 to 190 class white tails to prove it.
Anyway,i got the 240 out after work today and hauled butt to my 400 yard shooting place. I took a box of factory 100grn spire points and my hand loads. I planed on shooting the whole box of factory to get some more brass but after three,,i see no reason to do so and will burn them up on some crow's out to 400. I will save my good BERGER 105's for 400 to how ever far I can see and let them rip.
Here is the target at 400 yards, with three factory rounds and three of my hand loads. Not to shabby for a redneck honkey and my brother better be on his best and have his spit together by the weekend.
HE DOESNT and I know that but we are going to have some fun. He will be using Kentucky windage, and I will be using notes and tiny lines in my scopes. I say scopes because im taking my 22-250 and 204 also. The 240 just needs some rounds put thru the tube and haven't shot it much at all.
