1,000fps 45acp

RC that new CFE Pistol powder with lighter bullets will get you 1000fps from your 45ACP. You would have to step down to 185 or a cast 200 grain bullet.

I notice they didn't mention what length barrel. I get 1000 fps in my Hi-Point Carbine with 230 grain bullets.

It is remarkably reliable. I'm sure it has jammed at some point, but I don't remember when. Typical session at the range is 100%. Can't say much about the accuracy, but then I use mine primarily as a home defense carbine, so I'm not trying to set any sniping records with it, LOL.

I slugged the barrel and it comes out close to .452", so some .251" 45 ACP bullets rattle down the bore.  I'm using .252" diameter bullets which improve accuracy tremendously.  But the point of impact does wander when the barrel heats up.

Don't try this at home.  Don't use this load in unmodified or plastic pistols.  This load may cause cancer in California.

Starline 45 Win Mag cut to .895".  Starline sometimes has the 45 Super brass but I prefer the Win Mag.

Clocks out at 1330 to 1360.

Supposedly one can push this to over 1400 with 11.2 gr Power Pistol and Federal 150 but accuracy starts to fall off.  I haven't tried it in my 4595TS yet but it does come with a lifetime warranty.

DO NOT use this load in regular 45 or 45+p brass.  It requires the heavier 45 Super or 45 Win Mag brass.
